Commerce is very important part of every economy. It's our proud privilege that we are running Department of Commerce in our college. The Government Bikram College of Patiala was established in 1945, a quarter of a century ago. It is a co-educational Institution in the fields of commerce. It is the oldest Government College of Commerce in Northern India, established by Raja Harinder Singh of Faridkot in memory of his grandfather Raja Bikram Singh. This college has been associated with Punjabi University Patiala since 1962.

In this there are multiple opportunities in the fields of Banks, Insurance Companies, Audit, Accounts, Company Secretaryship, Chartered Accountants, Management Accountants, Financial Analysts, company law, tax practice, marketing, planning board, private, government and co-operative sector, manufacturing and business management, I.A.S, I.P.S, I.R.S, P.C.S, (CIVIL and Judicial services), and teaching.
Students passed from this college are appointed on higher posts in these institutions and are spreading the fragrance of the College far and wide.

Computer Science

In addition to B.Com. and M.Com., students are being successfully prepared to build their future in the field of technology through IT course BCA. Students pursuing computer course of BCA can secure multiple opportunities in various IT sectors as System Analyst, Web Developer and Designer, Software Engineer, Project Manager, Network Administrator. Students passed from this institution are presently appointed on various higher posts in multiple companies such as Life Insurance Companies (LIC), Verka, GSA, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), GSAI etc.
